When hearing that the long awaited shrine to the lifetime work of Yves Saint Laurent would open in October in Paris I quickly made plans to go there. In the couture house at Avenue Marceau number 5, the very best neighborhood of the city. A Hôtel Particulier where the genius worked for almost thirty years, Paris here I come!
Arriving on time for my three-thirty, tickets bought online slot, was a good decision. The awaiting queue seemed to go around the block.
Once inside this magnificent town house the World of YSL opened before your eyes.
Myself not really having a favorite designer of all time but he is up there at the top. Every once in a while a designer revolutionizes the scene. Coco Chanel did. As did YSL, bringing men's wear into the female wardrobe.
"When you feel good in clothing anything can happen , good clothing is a passport to happiness ", the master once averred.
Oh, and even the Entrée Musee ticket has one of his sketches printed on it. I'm keeping mine!
